Project Two
Traditional 3-tiered trays for afternoon tea take up lots of room on the table and are not very accessible. It can be difficult to grab your food items, especially when you are eating in a larger group.
How might I create a modern 3-tiered tray that allows for easy access to the food items?
What is Afternoon Tea?
Afternoon tea is a traditional British event. You drink tea, eat small savory items, scones, and small desserts. It is usually served on a 3-tiered tray around 4 o’clock, as it was meant to hold them over until dinner.
Resolutions
This 3-tiered tray features spinning plates. Each layer spins a full 360 degrees, allowing everyone to access their food, even if it is facing the other side of the table.
The clear acrylic base ensures everyone has an unobstructed view of the tray, as it is the centerpiece of the table. It also has built-in handles at the top and bottom of the tray, allowing the tray to be easily transported.
